North Carolina is home to 8,683,242 people. The state capital is Raleigh. There are 35,434 people in state prison and 111,537 people on probation. Individuals may not operate a motor vehicle if they may test positive for illegal substances. Every day the police will make about 110 DUI arrests and 150 drug arrests. Every day the state of North Carolina will lose about 7 residents to alcohol related death and 1 to illegal drug overdose.
